Today, there is a growing list of health benefits of oregano than ever before.   It seems not so long ago that many only associated this powerful herb with seasoning pizza and other favorite Italian dishes.

Curing Health with Oregano

Oregano Nutrients

This herb offers powerful nutritional benefits that are not to be ignored. It contains high amounts of calcium, magnesium, iron, phosphorous, copper, zinc, boron, potassium and manganese.

In 1998, the US government tested the preserving powers of these oils and found that this oil was the most effective. In fact, it even killed different pathogens including E. Coli and salmonella.

It is one of the richest plant sources of trace minerals known to man kind. Ounce per ounce, it ranks higher in calcium than cheese, dark green vegetables, sardines,  salmon, and this herb grown in the wild, is sixteen times richer in calcium than even milk!

This herb consists of hundreds of compounds, making the list of its benefits very long. The main ones being a natural antiseptic and powerful antiviral, anti-fungal agent. It is capable of stopping pain as well as offering a relaxing, soothing feeling.

Mainly used in treating asthma, yeast, colds, parasites, flu, gum disease and diarrhea. The oil of this plant can be a life saving medicine for animal bites. It will kill pathogens on contact, reduce inflammation, stop pain and neutralize toxicity almost instantly.

Treat yeast, parasites, flu, diarrhea

If you are looking for pure oregano oil, this is likely one of the better product companies as they are exclusively active in the development, manufacturing, and distribution of only this product.

It was used as a potent herbal medicine for some 50,000 years, long before being used as a mere spice.   Here is an informative article on some ancient uses of wild oregano.  It states that interest in the benefits of it declined in the 18th century and is revived again during the 20th century.

Used as a powerful pain reliever; the tea is prepared to ease menstrual pain and the oil from the leaves offers respite from toothaches by squeezing or rubbing a few drops of it on the teeth and gums after every meal (and bed time to reduce bad breath.)

I cannot stress enough the importance of using this herb when dealing with yeast (candida) . This is a highly contagious and possibly life threatening condition. Many cancers would not exist today without the presence of yeast in the body.

In addition to parasites another terrible condition linked to many health issues including ADD and ADHD.

Do not underestimate the power of this essential herb. I grow this beautiful plant in my home garden; so, I can have a ready and steady supply of this culinary herb is easy to grow and hardy addition.
